It is complete with and original front sight hood, cleaning rod and a cross-hatched brown leather sling with a partial ink stamp on the inside front end. The barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate are the late all stamped versions and the stock and handguard are the wartime laminated version and it has an earlier flat butt plate. The rear section of the barrel also has the factory markings of "44E30" with the correct Mauser factory shield and "135" proof indicating the barrel was made by the Mauser factory. The top and right side of the receiver has the "eagle/135" Waffenampt proof of the Mauser factory and the left, rear side of the barrel and receiver have the correct Nazi eagle firing proof. This specific rifle was actually manufactured by the Mauser factory and the top of the receiver is marked "byf 44" the wartime code for Mauser and the year of manufacture and the receiver sidewall is "Mod. Sometime in late 1944 / early 1945 the Waffen Werke Brunn factory changed their production code on the K-98 rifles they were producing from DOT to SWP. These rifles were used by all German forces throughout the war. Highly collectible Model 98 Mauser Rifles made at the Waffen Werke Brunn factory in Czechoslovakia, in 1945 under Nazi oversight and occupation. This is a very nice example of a late WWII German K98 Mauser rifle.
